I changed the fluid in my T3650 first with 3.2 quarts of Dexron III/Mecron combo since I couldn't find a straight Dexron III which I used last time with great results.

After the change when the car was cold and in 5th gear only the trans would make a metallic kind of noise where it almost sounds like wind coming in from the trans area. Or maybe like a slight metallic rattle. Its had to explain. If I put my foot on the clutch it would still be there. If I put it in neutral it would still be there. If I downshift into 4th it goes away. And when it warms up its fine in 5th.

So I figured I would try it again with some different fluid. So I went to the dealer and got the fluid they said they use which was a Motorcraft Mercon VI I believe. I put in 3.5 quarts and it still does the same thing. Any ideas?

Are you withing the correct fluid range. I think it either has too little or too much. Try checking the transmission fluid just like it says in the manual. Drive the car for 10 minute. Heat it up. Then (i don't remember if you turn it off or not). But let it sit for 5 minutes. Its hard to get the fluid in the right range.

Im just going by what everyone says is the right amount which is 3.2 - 3.4 quarts. Its what I did the first time and it was fine but that was with Dexron III fluid which I cant find anywhere and I assume the dealer fluid is the right stuff.
