Yesterday I hit 2998 miles. Took it in to Jiffy Lube for it's first oil change..used the expensive synthetic oil option. Asked them about the power steering...everything seems fine they said. Last night I took it out for a late night drive..the roads were empty and dead so I drove it hard for about 60 miles, flooring it at straigh-aways and taking turns quickly. The Automatic 5 speed normally shifts brilliantly. Towards the end of the drive the downshifting was noticable and uncomfortable...sort of gave the car a downward pulling. Also the sound of the engine went from a deep rumble to higher pitched rumble. I wasn't impressed. Any ideas?

Was curious about changing the tranny to a 6 speed Tremec but that would probably be a disaster.

Took it out for a spin..she's back to her usual self...I guess it can be sensitive to certain driving conditions.
