Is it ok to run Royal purple for MT Transmissions in this? I know some of the Tremec's (TKO 500/600) require the GM Synchromesh

i wouldn't. i'd get the synchromesh stuff.

I got an e-mail back from Royal purple they said it was fine to use it.

I'd call Tremec or one of the reputable tranny shops. Bob Hanlon went through my TKO500 and his recommendation was either Synchromesh or Redline also makes a high load resistant oil, I'll have to look for the number of it.

Here is the official word from Tremec I just got off the phone w/ them.

The Royal purple is not recommended but only b/c they have not tested w/ it yet. not that it wont work with it. They said the GM Synchromesh, Mobil 1 are fine and also Pennzoil which is who makes the GM Synchromesh.

I asked Tremec

Funny how the Tech on the phone said it will not work but the e-mail I got said it would. I dont see why Royal Purple would make a tranny fluid that would not work with a wide range of transmissions. Just b/c they have not tested it does not mean it's not good for it.
