If you pop off your shifter boot is your tranny (tailshaft housing to be exact) offcenter to the right of the big hole in the chassis?(that the shifter comes through) I swear with my t-5 the tranny was directly in the center but I just put in a 3550 and it's way off center to the right I used the exact same crossmember but just did the modification to grind off the welds and make it adjustable. I'm confused how this happened

Yeah I noticed the same thing in the '94. I threw a TKO on the tail end of my motor and couldn't figure out why it was offset. I'm actually glad you said something because I just assumed that I built my motor mounts crooked! I took the time to measure everything and ensure that it all aligns square with the axle and couldn't find any significant errors. Not sure if this happens with every Tremec or just yours and mine but I don't foresee any problems due to the "off center" nature.

I just put a TKO600 in my 93 and its way off to the right too. Almost hits the edge of the hole.

I believe the TKO600/500's use the same case as the 3550's too.

tremec

Do all tremec transmissions take the same shifter or is there diffrent ones? how can you tell them apart if so?

It was my understanding, because this is what I have read and been told, that a tremec (tko) would require a different bellhousing.
