How difficult is it to install a TR-3550 in a 90 5.0? What parts do you need besides the trans. itself?

just the specific tremec bell housing and an adjustable trans x member. Make your oem one adjustable by grinding the tac welds off the tubes.

A 1995 Cobra R bell housing is the proper bell for the TKO 3550. As far as I know, the 3550 does NOT come with a shifter as the TKO500/600 do, so you'll need a shifter. Do the grind on the mount and you will have to measure, after the install to see if your drive shaft length fits correctly. If not, have the tube replaced at a DS shop (cheap) and that should be about it for Tremec specific parts.

Bellhousing has been addressed.

The 3550 comes with a shifter, just not a handle. You can reuse your T5 handle.

Crossmember will fit fine with the gind/re-weld method or get an adjustable or get an AOD one.

Driveshaft should be fine -- it will fit like in an AOD.

Its not the same bellhousing, well sort of. The size and shape are the same but the bolt holes are in diffrent places.

Yep, and 4 speed to 302 bellhousing will work. Also, you can just slot the tranny mount to crossmember bolt holes a little farther back instead of breaking the tack welds. This is what I did to get mine to work. Other then that, it's straight forward.

nope they are identical i mounted the tremec up in there with both of, and on the "tremec" bell housing you can see where the ford part number was removed

They are not identical. The bell to block pattern is the same and the depth is the same, but a 3550/TKO bolt pattern is not the same as a T5. The older 4spd bells match the 3550. Tremec even tells you the part # for putting a one in place of a T5 (D9ZC-6392-C). See page 6 in the Tremec service manual. If they were the same, a 3550 would bolt up to a Lakewood 15203 (T5) but they don't. They match to a 15202
