Anyone have an install guide with photos and detailed instructions.
Looking with something that even shows you how to remove the existing shift boot and mid console.

i havent made the purchase yet, but im wondering if its something that i can do myself or if i need to just order from a good shop and pay to have them install it. I would have to say that my mechinac skills are pretty limited to changing the oil..

It's something that you can do yourself, all you need is an 8, 10, and 12mm socket. Maybe not even the 12, can't remember.

The triax comes with good instructions. Follow them step by step and you won't have a bit of problem.

I think the only thing that might be left off is how to get the console off. Unscrew the knob, push your finger on each side of the shifter and you will feel the plastic to hold on to. Then just pull up, the whole console comes off and snaps back in place.

You might need a buddy to help set the air / stop gap and maybe not. I have a hard time using two wrenches at once

It's a 45 min job for someone with no skills at all.

It's really simple...I didn't even look at my instructions...

1. take the knob off and pop the panel w/the boot off
2. loosen the bolts and then rip the shifter off
3. clean off the old sealant and spread some new sealant on there
4. Put the new shifter in and make sure that the stops are positioned right to go into each gear
5. re-install bolts/boot/knob

Just come back on here if you have any questions...shouldn't take you no longer than an hr. I'll be here for any questions...him me up on AIM if you need to. smttysmth02gt.

It's a night and day difference - just make sure to save the stocker in case you need to bring the car in for warrenty work.

I have read that some shops claim it voids the entire drivetrain from the shifter back....total bs but just save yourself headaches and keep the stock around.

Another fellow stanger suggested placing a little bicycle rubber between the handle and the actual shifter.. this will cut down on the noise/vibrations/heat generated by the after-market shifter... i tried it... excellent tid-bit

I just installed the triax on my '04 last monday. I've never done anything like it before and it took me an hour from start to finish. I followed the steeda instructions step by step. very clear and easy to follow.

After about a week of driving with the triax, I'm very pleased.
