:nonono: I installed the steeda tri ax last night and took het for a test spin at 2am. I immediately noticed that when engine braking in third gear the damn thing rattled like hell. If I grabbed the shifter the rattle would stop. So this morning I pulled the boot off and made sure the shifter wasn't rubbing the stop bolts, it wasn't. Since I had to pull it all back apart to put the boot on I went ahead and installed the plastic washer against the brass fittings between the shift rod and the shifter. It doesn't rattle as bad noww but I think the rattle is coming from the factory shift knob. Has anyone experienced this? :bang:

What aftermarket shift knobs work with the triax and fit well with the shift boot?

Call Steeda, tell them your problem and they will send you free of charge a small rubber piece that goes between the actual handle that you bolted on and the handle thats in the base ( between the two bolts) I did have the same prob, called them and got the fix and havent heard a peep since ;-)

Sorry for the 2nd message but its NOT coming from the handle....I thought so too just listening to it....as far as the shift knob ...the steeda one looks great , and you can find it for around 50.00

I have one black rubber spacer between the shifter and the knob arm. The instructions said one or two could be used but mine only came with one.
