tri-ax, low or high?

I have;nt installed my tri ax yet since the car is in hibernation in the garage but i don't know if i should mount the handle in the lower or higher position? I know the higher position is probably the most comfortable wich is why i'm leaning that way but i;m sure alot of people put them in the low position. What are the pros and cons?

Start with the tri-ax installed on it's lowest setting. If you can reach it then stay that way.

IMO you should try it in both and decide for yourself. I don't know of any cons either way. The pro side is that you should not miss a 2-3 shift.

I've got mine set on low, I figure the lower the less distance my shifter has to travel for each gear. Come to think of it, I forgot why I chose to go that way. It takes time getting used to from the stock height of the shifter.

Go low if you can deal with it. The throw is much, much more positive...and for whatever reason it seemed to make mine a little quieter.

Low was too low for me. I personally like it in the upper of the 2 postions. You still have a very positive feel when shifting, but you don't have to move your seat up to adjust for the lower setting.

High for comfort driving,low for aggresive shifting. mine is high.On the low setting Im working to shift.

I also tried both. W/ the lower setting I hear more tranny noise inside my car but I left it that way cuz shifting's somewhat easier & more direct.

I tried both..

first low - loved it..
then switched to high - the throw got longer (longer than the stocker) It shifts easier(doesn't require as much effort) than the low setting but I don't like a long throw..

So I switched back to low and never went back to high.

Bottom line is to try them both and see which you like best.

Lowest, only way to go. Although, I shift just as fast with the short throw as I did with the stock shifter I don't think there's any way for me to shift faster unless I get an adjustable clutch cable or something of that nature. 0_o

I Have a 5.0 shifter in my gt and i bought a aftermarket shifterhandle and they make it sit REALLY low and in the cobra i have a tri-ax it also is on low... IMO i would say low shorter throw distance.

I tried both. Lowest first, then highest. Liked the highest much better. It is easier to reach, and my tranny seems to shift easier at the highest setting. The 1-2 shift in the lowest setting is more difficult than the highest. Just my opinion...

The low setting makes shifting a breeze for me and trannys last longer! The low setting gives you more positive shifts and shorter throw. I have noticed that it isnt as noisy as it was when it was mounted high.

I have mine on the low setting. I don't really have any problems reaching it or anything but I do have long monkey arms.
