The powerband is going to differ from application to application. Your setup may feel the power at a different rpm than someone elses but for the most part the power is going to be within 2k to 5500. After 5500 the cam is not going to be producing much more power. I would suspect the cam is right.

I have an e cam which is rated at 1500 to 5500 and I haven't revved past 3500 because I'm still breaking in the motor but I also feel the power coming on at 3000 and above which I like.

The Basic Operating RPM Range moves up to 2,500-6,000 RPM.

sure it will. If your intake's rpm range is from idle - 5,500 and your cam is from 2,000-5,500 that is a good match. In my case the E cam doesn't make too much power over 5,500 but I have some more cubes so I was told by a few engine builders to go with the track heat intake (shorter runner) which has an operating range from 1,500 - 6,500. I sacrifice a little low end torque by going with the track heat but my high rpm power will be a bit higher

ok I thought you had the stage 1 cam.

if you have an intake with a 5,500 peak the intake will fall a bit when the cam (stage 2) can still make power.

edit: If you do have the stage 2 (by mistake) then you may want an intake with a 6000 or 6500 peak

Well you have to pay attention to the events, but just saying the difference between the stage 1 and 2 is only duration and lift is totally wrong.

You can see the valve timing events on the TF site.

I've got a Stg 1 with 1.72 rockers on a fairly low comp
motor (9.2) and that low comp softens the lower end
a little. I can feel a significant increase in acceleration
from around 3k and on up. If I was closer to the
upper end of the recommendation comp ratio range
it would pull stronger in the below 3k range.
