yeah, alot of kits installed i have heard of, they put you right at 280-290 to the wheels some have hit over 300 rwhp with them, which would be like 340 to the crank or so. they are good kits and are proven performers.

the setup is good to start with for sure, but the heads have the potential outperform both the intake and cam, so its definitally a great kit to build on.

Great kit. If you have the stock tired shortblock you are probably looking at 300ish to the wheels. A fresh bottom end with the kit and supporting mods are usually around 330 to the wheels. A 190 or 255lph fuel pump and 24lbs injectors should be installed with the kit though.

Sicarius - I imagine some of that extra 30hp is from added compression or other inconsistencies...

Sometimes loose (older engines) is actually better

I had 162,000 miles on my stock bottomend and ran 97.98 mph. I then added a brand new bottomend (rebuild - Probe pistons/bit more compression), BBK longtubes over some smashed Mac shorties, and ported lower and gained 1.33 mph, up to 99.31 mph.

The equivalent of '13 hp'

Broke-in engines typically dyno higher. Car and Driver does longevity test, and they test performance tid-bits new and at 50,000 miles. The 50,000 miles typically ends up ahead in the straightline category. I seen a Porsche Boxter S gain from 5.6 to 5.2 seconds to 60 mph.

I just figure my tired 130k shortblock has seen better days... especially since most of these cars were driven like it was stolen and I am the third owner.
On a side note also replace your lifters while you are doing the kit. As this is the most complete kit on the market it doesn't include lifters and for 100 bucks you might as well change them with some FMS ones and save yourself some trouble.

I highly recommend the kit! I'm running the TrackHeat with the Stage 2 Cam and I'm putting down 310 to the wheels. I would strongly recommend going with atleast 30lb injectors. With my combo I'm running out of fuel at high rpm's. Like already stated make sure you get new lifters since the kit doesn't come with 'em. If you're gonna do it, and money permits, get a bigger t-body and MAF.

Don't believe the hype either... you will most likely need a tune when done. I know I did.

You do not 'need' a tune...

I did the swap with no tune and drove it for 2 1/2 years without a tune...

Dman is making 320rwhp (roughly) with 24 lb injectors and is getting plenty of fuel.

I know my 30 lbers are a bit on the 'big' side for my combo with no tune...
