Hello all,
I just had the trick flow twisted wedge kit H/C/I installed on my 95GT and am experiencing some rough idle(which I expected) and an annoying bucking problem at about 1500RPM. Above 1500RPM things seem ok. An example is when I let my foot of the gas while in gear the car jerks front to back until I give it more gas or drop to a lower gear an raise the RPM's.
The installation was done by a Ford dealer and includes the following:
24# injectors, BBK T.B., Pro-M MAS, 195lph fuel pump, fuel press. regulator 35# at idle and a MAC fender well intake.
The mechanic said that he had to tweak the Air Bypass valve on the BBK even though the instructions that came with it said it was factory set. Trick flow wasn't much help over the phone. Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ed

I wonder what kind of tweaking he did to the IAC valve. I assume the cam is a stage 1 cam, right? I can't remember the specs on it.

From what I have been told, the computer needs time to adjust to the cam. I cannot confirm this from experience, but just from what I have read.

Final solution = tune or tweecer. Immediate & temporary solution, maybe you should try opening up the screw on the top of the TB to let more air into the motor with the throttle closed. That may stabilize the "bucking". Just screw it clockwise & count how many turns it takes to close it fully. Write that down so you can change it back to factory settings later. Then open it back to where it was before, and open it a couple turns past that. See if it helps. If it does, open it some more until you are satisified.

Let other people post first on this thread before you actually do anything. I have no first hand experience on this, so just consider my post a "TTT" post!

I have bucking all way up to 2600 rpms because my HUGE cam .544 lift (B-31 ANdersom Ford Motorsport)
BUT I have bad spidar gears in rear end and even more bucking, but this saturday I will put my new stuff Eaton and Superior 31 spline axles and than will be tighter
You need EEC tuner, like TwEECer R/T or something like that

Trick Flow Kit problems

Yeah,
I figured I'd need an EEC tuner. I'll try adjusting the T.B. screw and see what happens. The idle is currently set to 750 RPM. I wonder if pushing it up a little might help as well? Runs pretty smooth above 1500 RPM. My gas mileage went to hell also. The only reason I'd care about that is just not sure if I'm running too rich.
Thanks fo your inputs. I'll post my experiences with this set-up as things progress.

I have the Trickflow Kit for my mustang. What you have to realize is when you buy a cam you lose some drivability. It is normal for it to be bucking under 1500, mine does the same and so does everyone elses unless they tuned it. There is no way you are going to fix it without using the tweecer or getting a tune. The cam wasn't made to go that slow on an engine. I haven't got mine tuned and I can drive it perfectly well without any bucking. You should really just avoid the sub-1500 range and you won't have to spend a ton of money on a tuner or chip. That is what I do and I have no problems at all.

How did the tweecer cure the hot start ups? What did you do to solve it?

change injector timing and made the car idle in OL and then i modified the fuel tables. Most of it was the JAJ1 config which is a cobra config but then i modified it.
