Trickflow kit installed on 88gt with problems!

when u set your valves make sure the lifters are bled down and its also best to do them when both valves are closed. once again, this kit is intended to be used with MAF and 24 inj and at least a 155 pump. between the cam freaking out the speed density, and the engine prolly is dying for more fuel. you can keep tip toeing around this all you want. i promise you this is where your problems are. call trickflow.

So black plugs mean I need more fuel? I have a larger pump and adjustable regulator that I can put on. I just don't see how more fuel can help the situation? If I have to I'll convert to Mass air. I just think I have other problems at the moment like maby the valves are not adjusted correctly. What do you mean by make sure the lifters are bled down. How do I do this? thanks...

well hydraulic lifters get filled with oil through an orifice valve, they maintain pressure with your engine running cause of the oil pressure. they will bleed down if the engine hasnt been ran in lets say several hours. when my friend and I adjusted the valves on my trickflow package after the spring upgrade the engine wasnt ran in like a days or 2. this means no oil in the lifter. if you wanna bleed them down like RIGHT now, get a pushrod and force the oil out of the plunger by hand. correct lifter preload cannot be achieved with oil in your lifters. the oil has to be bled down to have the slight slack so to speak.

Ok thanks. I am going to try to readjust today. If I can't get it to work then I'll look toward a mass air conversion.
