trickflow R series too big?

well i have the opportunnity to pick up a trickflow r series upper and lower in good cond and an accufab 75mm tb for a really good price.
is this combo too big for my motor?
if so can you explain?
thanks im going to be purchasing this tonight if all goes as planned.

well when i go back home im installing the tfs1 cam,timing chain,full exhaust,the tfs intake and accufab tb,probably some trickflow valve springs.

in the near future,255lph fp,and 75mm maf

what about the heads?

I have the TFS R for the 351. They make it for the 302 as is the part # you posted so its not over kill persay but it depends on the heads too if your actually going to get the full benifit out of the TFSR

down the road the heads will be changed out but,who knows when

i talked to a guy and he said it will kill my lowend.

It will murder your bottom end and mid range. The "R" is a high RPM burner that makes all it's power from like 4k to 4.5k and up. You already have a cobra intake.....that's perfect for your setup as is. A cam is a pretty much a waste to swap out on a mostly stock cobra engine IMO. Save the money for bolt ons or get the heads lightly ported and port matched to a ported lower intake. Just my 2 cents.

It will make your car a dog below 5k and still probably won't gain anything on the top end..

ive decided to pass on the deal...

so im going to get my cobra intake ported and see how that does.

and then maybee get 75mm pro-m.

Mine has pretty good mid range even with not the best heads on it the TFSR still makes good mid range power. But as stated unless you have the rest of the mods to go along w/ it then just strapping on a TFSR intake is a waste.

supposedly PMAS is just a spin off from pro-m.. correct me if im wrong?

seriously, if you're going to spend the money i would look into a nice set of TFS haeds and then a set of TFS intakes. but since you just got the car recently, i think a congrats/good luck is in order! seems like a real sweet car

crap.
well i just talked to the guy and he said that part number he just grabbed off summite to give ppl a reference its actually "track heat tfs sbf efi 2u"

thats what it says on the upper manifold.and ive been looking up that part number and the only thing that comes up is the track heat manifold.

im going to keep searching.anybody have a "r" manifold on hand to double check???

well the part number for the track heat is TFS-51500002 and the R is the one you have posted above

not sure about how well the accufab works, but i run a BBK 75mm tb w/ my street heat. you might want to hang on that, i think the opening in the track heat is 75mm as well(i dont have the link open to summit anymore and am too lazy to look LOL) only thing you might need is the TFS elbow adapter, unless your going w/ a fox body swap if im not mistaken

yea man that number he posted was just for reference to what it looked like.
and in the pics it has three small fins on each side,the R series has like 2 1/2.
and the actual part number was the same as the track heat.

and yes i need the elbow

and as far as the throttle body goes i guess ill just compare the two myself.

PMAS is the old Pro-M. Pro-M as it is now is under new management.

Accufab makes the best TB's out there hands down. 75MM is measured at the blade, not at the opening where most TB's are measured and then taper down to the blade.

venom-ive read recentely,that pro-m actually went to pmas now.and they actually have a good price and look good also.

and yea i havent heard anything bad about accufab yet,besides the price.

but im getting the intake and tb for the price of just the tb so i was reluctant to pass the deal up.

IMHO ... I don't see it as an effective thing to do

With what I see in this thread ...
I don't see your mods making the OEM meter become obsolete

The gain would be very small ... if any as I see it
