time to change the timing chain,so that means cam swap.im looking for one that will be blower friendly for when i put one on the car,i know the e303 is but im not sure about the tfs.any help guys? :(

The e303 is probably one of the most notorious cams you can put in our cars to cause idle problems. It is sometimes a hit or miss thing, but more often than not it WILL cause the "surge and die syndrome."

Go with a custom ground cam that way you can get all you can out of that a lil magic stick. Its def. well worth the money that you spend and plus they can make it sound really radical to. Dont get me wrong or nothing the tf stage 1 cam is a good cam if you put some 1.7 roller rockers on it you get almost as much lift and duration as mine. Yet the lobe seperation isnt the same the tf is a 112 and mine is a 110 that is where you get the lobe sound at.

ok but the springs on my heads are omly good for about 540 lift.with the 1.7's wouldnt that put me over on tfs cam?im not sure how you go about figuring that out.if its 498/512 with 1.6's what would it be with 1.7's?over 540 right?i am new to this but i am slowly learning,i hope.

You can do like me and put split ratio rockers on (even though I have upgraded springs, good for .600" lift) and run 1.7 on intake, 1.6 on exhaust. This puts it at .530" intake, .510" exhaust.
