Trip Meter resets itself?

Anybody had a problem with the trip meter resetting itself to zero?

A few months ago, there was a thread about this. It seems to happen when you reset the trip meter then drive for about 5 miles or less and turn the car off. When you turn the car on the trip meter is back to zero. Many have had this problem, but no fix to my knowledge.

Had it happen ounce to me shortly afterward check engine light came onand gas gage read zero.i was told to switch to chevron and get a bottle of techron fuel adetive, Havent had the problem since dont know if the two are related but that was experiane

yep, i was in that thread. happened to me a few times, dont pay much attention to it anymore.

I really haven't paid too much attention, to be honest about it..I just assumed, that when the readings went back to zero, after reaching 999 miles, that it was just normal..

I haven't had anything like that happen with my '05, but whenever wierd stuff showed up in my '96 I would disconnect the negative battery lead for about a minute. That usually cured most electronic ills. Something like hitting Control-Alt-Delete.
