I recently pulled the engine/trans (together) & swapped in a new T5 & SPEC clutch, to replace both failing parts. Everything went smoothly & the car now grabs & shifts better than new.
Except...
The car now feels sluggish in the mid range, & throws a CE light after about 10 minutes of driving. I also have a noticable gassy smell on my cloths after a short cruise.
The car threw (2) codes:
176 - Heated oxygen sensor indicates lean condition, left side
177 - Heated oxygen sensor indicates rich condition, left side
Of course the first thing I did was go out & buy 2 new Bosch O2's, & unfortunately threw the same (2) codes.
I've checked, & re-checked everything & can't find anything that could be the culprit. Has anyone ever come across, or know where I can start to trouble shoot this.
I also have an Autometer A/F gauge which used to pan back & forth depending on driving habits. The gauge is now pegged straight up (under all driving conditions) with little to no movement, thus indicating a problem somewhere.
