ok....i just installed a XE268 comp cams cam last weekend....now i just got a oil pan and im installing that...the engine is out of the car and while i was scrapping the gasket sealer off i noticed the cam journals were sticking out one side about a little less than a 1/4"....since the journals were a little off center the cam lobes werent directly centered with the lifters....will i need to take everything back off and move the cam the extra 1/4" back?? or is there somthing else i dont know of???? and also would i be able to use silicone gasket maker instead of a oil pan gasket?

did you install a new thrust plate for the cam? If not that may be your issue.
How much end play is on the cam? do you have the cam gear on? If not it will walk
to some extent...
Yes you can use gasket maker for the oil pan but it would probably leak
