truck heads ??

Anybody know if an intake or headswap can be done on a 2003 F150 or do they come with PI heads , my brother has one and the vortech on my car is making him want more power out of his truck , also a 4.6 , or should be look at exhaust , headers , programmer stuff first ??

The 03 F150 already has the PI Heads on it.......

...if its a 99+ head, its a PI head. same for stangs and 4.6 truck

as previously said, he has PI heads, you canswap over the Mustang intake manifold if the truck is a 4.6L, he would gain hp up top, but lose torque down low.

so what intake is on the truck , cool i didnt know they had the PI heads , will his truck plenum and TB etc , bolt up to a PI mustang intake if we change it over if it doesnt already run the same intake ????

the truck has an intake with longer runners to give it better low end torque, and if he plans to tow anything with his truck, he's going to want the low end torque. the mustang intake has shorter runners which help it make high rpm power. in the car, the lose of some low end torque doesn't really matter. he *may* gain 30-40+hp (based on the hp differences between the F-150 and Mustang 4.6L output.) he will be able to reuse his throttle body, i'm not sure about the plenum. a new tune is a must if he makes the swap.

yea hes not looking to haul anything , making a lightning look a like out of it , already put a 2/4 drop and svt lightning wheels on it , put an aftermarket muffler on and dumped it behind the cab , sounds pretty mean already , i think hes going to get the programmer next
