Has struts could likely be added as boosters. The engineering to get the right ones and them mounted would be a pain and might bend/warp the trunk. But I can picture it working. I have seen too much lift bendingfiberglass hoods and deck lids. Is your lid steel?Ha ha.

Is there a way to keep open without replacing the torsion bars?
Some of these gas prop struts are rated for 200lb doors and are only 20” long.I think so but don’t really know. It is heavy. I have taken it off and dyed it.
I was hoping there might be a trick someone new of without replacing the rods.
Guess not so I will have to decide prop it up or replace the rods. Rods not to expensive if I can find a pair.
I figured out a simple solution to my trunk lid not staying open. Just took a piece of wire and a pliers.
I have attached a picture. I will make it look better and maybe make one for the other side.
