Okay so here's the deal. I am in a very good position. I recently acquired a nice T-5 tranny that could use a little rebuild. So i figure, while I got the thing in peices, why don't I ask my good buddies here to give me some ideas on how to make it handle a little more power (for down the road you know :-D) So I want to know, in high HP applications, where the T5 falls short and what can be done to make it handle more and more.

How much HP do you plan to throw at this tranny???
If its not too radical you could just give it a nice solid rebuild and just take care of it, shift and maintain it well and it should last.
I wouldnt try powershifting either since you seems pretty concerned about the life of the tranny. Some swear by it and some dont even think about doing it, but i dont think its necessary so yeah....

t5 fails by gears breaking, so the only way to make it stronger is to get stronger gears, which is costly as hell

sorry... no cheap improvements
