Trying to install the stock head unit after previous owner wired some ghetto

so ya... the previous owner installed an aftermarket deck, chopped the harness wiress that he had installed and left all the stock equipment i hope. ive taken a picture of the mess ive been left with. i do not know what stereo was installed in the beginning because the speakers have all been replaced with aftermarkets. so honestly i dont even know if i can install the stock head unit back into the car.

it is hard to identify which plug goes where with out truly being there with the head unit.

looks like you have-
head unit plugs
amp plugs
cd player plugs

i am pretty sure 11 and 12 would go from head unit to cd player
8 and 9 are grounds for head unit and cd player

tape that wire on #7... that one is asking for trouble.

ok so heres what ive figured out.

i got the stereo to work as well as the speakers. i'm guessing that the car used to have the mach 460 unit as all the wires and amp locations are there. HOWEVER

the rear amps have been removed so as you can guess... i'm left with highs. i have nothing but high's and vocals as far as a stock head unit is concerned.

which sucks but i'll live because all i wanted it for untill i get back from deployment is to listen to talk shows on the way to work in the mornings.

Thanks for your help fellas the wiring colors youve gave me will at least help me install the aftermarket unit... however i'm probably going to end up ripping the interior out of the car and installing all new wires and doing it all correctly.

however is it possible to remove all the stock wiring with out ripping the harness all to hell?
