How about cutting no cats out of your mid-pipe. For the price of an off road mid-pipe now a days, it doesn't make sense to go through the trouble of chopping them out and welding in a replacement secton. Not to mention if you ever sell the car, you've got the stock mid-pipe to go with it.

And for the record, I've never liked the sound of chambered mufflers behind a 4V engine. :notnice:

Brian has a good point. An off road H-pipe is under $150 and its larger then the stock pipe size :nice: I had Flowbastards and a MAC H-pipe on my 96 Cobra and I loved the way it sounded
My current Cobra is MUCH louder though and the only exhaust difference is my long tubes :nice:

if it were me and th car is n/a id go with some shorty's preferably bbk with a 2 cat x and some slp 2's the 2's keep it from having that sloppy rasp sound, if you are just gonna do cat back the slp 1's will be more than adequate. if you dont have to worry about emissions, id go with long tubes, 2cat or o/r x and slp 2's but that is mho:nice: good luck with whatever u choose, cobras sounds sexy one way or the other

I put SLP LM1's on my wife's Cobra. It still has the factory H-pipe and she gets compliments on the way it sounds quite regularly. At idle and part throttle it sounds tough and aggressive. Under WOT it sounds like a European exotic.
