Tuner chips....can they be tuned backwards?!

so i was looking to get a tuner for the stang.... and this popped in my mind....is it possible to lean out your a/f ratio SAFELY in order to get better gas mileage? i mean...why not...if youre not racing and juss daily driving.... might as well save some dollars at the pump! the idea is kinda out there but anyone have any input on this?

also which tuner would be the best for that application. one where you have a couple preset tunes and you can switch back and forth easily. any input is greatly appreciated! thanks guys.

yes.. you can pull fuel, and in turn make hp, and add timing... youll make power and better mileage.

what year is your car? 96-98 go with a SCT flip chip... 99-04 get an Xcal2 hand held tuner
