tuner in the sacramento area?

like the title says i'm looking for a tuner in the sacramento ca area since ive almost got the money saved up for a vortech. anybody know of such a place? the reason i'm asking is because ive heard that the tune that comes with the kit is junk. how true that is? i dont know? I would at least like to check the a/f ratio after the install. thanks.

you can go to speed freaks in tracy. I got my car tuned at APEX motorsports when i got my vortech put on about 4k miles ago. I am going to get it retuned by speed freaks when I have the cash. I have had a few friends tuned by them and they have had great experiances.

did you get a tuner kit or did you get the full kit? if you got the full kit how was the tune from vortech?

can anyone tell me if the tune from vortech is truly junk? I want to make sure that my car will pass smog and i want a safe tune because this is my DD until i can scrape up the cash for a 4cyl beater hahahahah

Im from Sac, but I havent gotten my car tuned yet...I have heard alot of good things about ForceFed performance in Roseville....

BTW, being that your from sac, have you been to any of the meets out here. we have a pretty big Mustang community here in Sac & throughout northern Cali...

no i havent. I really dont have alot of time for stuff like that with my current job but i would like to go sometime. do you have a number or website for forcefed?

I havn't heard anything about speed freaks. I have heard good things about Apex though. I don't trust any tuners in CA though. They pretty much all suck ballz. Which is why I bought the PRP . I would recommend it. It's VERY easy to tune your own car. Don't let any one tell you different!

I checked out forcefed's website they seem ligit but i will more then likely just have the tune from vortech checked out instead of having it completely tuned unless the vortech tune is unsafe. thanks

Tune wise, Apex isnt that great. I would recommend Advance Engine Development. They do their work out of Roseville i thinkna d some stuff in Santa Clara also. Their tunning is ON POINT.

Nick from Newtech Performance in Hayward, CA is very good also. He specializes in GM but is very skilled and can do great things with any make and model.
