Hi again kids. 4V guys...help me out here with a couple of simple things.

Timing advance/adjustment on my 98 4V...what can you tell me?

Tuning my 98 4V...is there ANYTHING to be gained from a $500 Dyno tune on this stock engine?

ANY other tuning mods or 'optimizing what I have' comments are greatly appreciated!

The car is stock but for weld in Flow 40s and a drop in K&N, along with tame 3:73 rear gears. This is a 'road racer/freeway runner' project rather than an all out drag car. OK?

Again, you guys are GREAT! A million thanks!

Only thing a tune would do for you on your stock car - would be a timing advance. I would not waste my money - rather, you should wait until you have done any and all modding. Some tuners will give you lifetime reflashes or burns though - so in that case, you could get your tune now and be covered for any future mods.

peace

Tat98Cobra...thanks for that bud.

What about just a timing adjustor for this engine? Worthwhile?

I dont trust them - being a mechanical device and all - too hard to dial it in safely.
I like changing the timing through the eec since you're commanding the actual numbers
