I'd go Twin Turbo or supercharged instead of a stroker kit... Getting power out of cubes and high compression is great but not so fun at the gas pump. I'd build the engine up anyway, at least make it a 306 with new pistons, rods, crank, etc... Just to make sure it can handle some boost without throwing a rod.
I think a supercharger would be cheaper than turbo? Not sure. Take a look at my friend he has a 351W / 408 stroker, TW heads, Victor jr. intake, 700+ cfm carb, good cam. He has 485 proven HP and 535lb-ft torque (at the dyno, not just speculation). I think a supercharger with a good bottom end would be a cheaper route IMO.
