turbo help

father in law gave me this as a turbo as a christmas present. he said it came off a turbo rx7. he didnt know what year or anything but the dang thing is in great shape. if any one knows anything about these turbos i would realy like your input. do you think this would be good replacement for a stock svo turbo?

if the svo turbo is still in good shape, no. SVO's had one of the biggest t3's available (stock) than most (i think all?) cars you will run accross in a junkyard.

Ive heard they had T-25 turbo , just like the SR20 nissan motor ....

t-25's are about the size of 16g's

is that an IHI??..but then again the twin turbo RX7s had little turbos like that..the size reminds me of the ChevySprint turbos id get................Hal

the 3rd gen rx-7's didnt have the same sized turbos. it was a sequential turbo setup. thats one smaller turbo at lower rpms to spool up a larger turbo at higher rpms.

so is this turbo good for anything more than a bookend or what?
it feels almost like new i want to use it for something if i can

Id use it for an ebay auction, sell it and spend your money on something you can make hp with.

i guess i shouldve mentioned the RX7 turbos werent the same size..but what i was saying is its small regardless of which turbo it is on the Rex7s....lol..i had a IHI off the Sprint on a Honda twin cyl GoCart and the turbo was about too small for it..lol.....................Hal
