Well did you check out the PTK kit that we posted up too. I know thats the one you were intersted in. I was only posting up that DIY for my buddy so incase if you weren't interested, maybe someone else in the thread might see it and be interested. I know what you're looking for and I personally would want something cleaner too. Of course I have to lose my ps a/c pump to even fit my turbo in so we'll see how clean my turns out when its done.

When I did my residency in 1992, I made $23,000 that year, and my wife, about $60k. We were newlyweds, all on our own, and living in a nice Chicago Suburb. (all the "single" residents shared little crummy apts). Ahhhh the good old days. (unlimited View attachment 517669 View attachment 517671 and making good $$ for that time)

I'd have to say most kits probably take a bit of modification, I doubt any kits fit 100% without any modifications. Thats just the nature of aftermarket performance parts in my mind.

If I were to spend the money again, would I go with HP? I'm honestly split, if I knew the quality of the welds improved then I probably would since the kit is a torque monster compaired to the PTK kit, but as it stands right now, I would not give HP my business since the customer service is sub-par and the quality of the products isn't as good as it could be.

chickendreamer, does HP's kit come coated or did you have it coated. It looks good, just wondering where the coating was done.

I have 2 friends that own HP Turbo Kits, ones a 93 GT the other is a 91 LX. There both happy w/ the kits, seem's to be a good company to buy from.

Yes, the kit comes standard with Jet Hoh coating. They basically make the kit, then ship it to Jet Hot to get coated, then jet hot ships it to you... the rest of the kit they send you separetally. The wait is a good 2 - 3 months for any turbo company out there, so if you do decide to order one, keep that in mind.

I read "TURBO'D very very very very very SOON!" to mean you have the kit or at least will get it soon. Any news?

LOL this came yesterday.

I should have my complete kit sitting in front of me by next week and I'm trying to have it all done in a few weeks.

LOL You guys should know me by now as the "stock block" believer. I have 2 extra ones sitting here in my garage ready to drop in as soon as this 163K+ block with it's 4th power adder going on it. It needs a a rest b/c it has real good to me. If it goes then I'll just drop in one of the other long blocks I have. The 600 rwhp is not anything anymore with my 357 I'm hoping to get at least 750-800 (whatever it takes) to get it done. I'm going to run methanol on this set up also and we'll see what these stock blocks can handle before it splits. I should have the 357 ready by June.

I'm not afraid to admit that I am a novice to the turbo world and I'm learning as I go.
I bought that PTK set-up off of TM and it's a PTK intercooled with a T-66.
The tial wastegate has a 9# spring and I plan to add a boost controller. I'm not sure about the housing and I still have no clue about those #'s you guys are talking about.
All I know is I'm going turbo in a week and I'll add as I go along and see more stuff I can get for it. I just want it in first and of course to bling then I'll start modding it once I have the 357 ready to go in. I'll prob have it all hot coated again since PTK offers a lifetime warranty on it.
