93-97 Probe GT (Mazda MX6 LE) use aluminum KL06 engine ,block is two piece and there is no main caps ,whole lower block are main caps

from the factory engine is ballanced for over 7500rpms , now its a lot more than that lets say 10.000rpms plus

yea they redline at 7k stock... can pull to 7500 rmp easy... but they are highly restricted up there tq curve stops at about 6800 on a NA motor... did you remove the VRIS in the manifold..????. and stock probes have the KL03 block IIRC... the KL06 is a different motor... But the thing is beautiful... im trying to find another probe to build...

+1 I was going to say the same thing!! Adam!?

Somebody mentioned AWD. That would be AWESOME!!!! Can you say "breaking lots of parts"? You have to post up some 1320' times, when you get em.

Wow!

AWD is hard to do on a probe ive heard of using modified.... escort parts from a AWD escort or something like that.... the problem your going to run in to.... is no matter what you do... that trany is gonna blow... and blow and blow... the kl trans blows.... LOL my friends gone threw 4 in the last 9 months running 9 psi... another person i know had them cyro(sp) treated.... and still blew it up.... im just saying... start a pile of trannys !!!

No we use Pauter rods, they are a lot stronger than Millenia S rods

WOW!! AND it is different meaning not like every other car out there. I did not know that was what made rods stronger but the larger size makes sense. Your pics are excellent and educational. Wonder what it is putting out? I had a mazda 2.5L (164HP stock) and it was smoooooth excellent sounding power especially with that DOHC. Your car must be putting out double that I would assume? In that little car? LOL!

what kinda power #'s are you expecting?

I had a 93 PGT, thing was a pile of ****zle. I sold it to get my 94 GT.

That looks like an awesome build tho. Props.

To beat record of all probes which is 540whp so far

For right now it is set to be 500whp, so we'll see

Now we're looking for custom gears, but not much luck at all, hopefully we'll find something before this season starts

Run one vs another, when my Stang is done, thats when

My brother sold his chrome swirlies long time ago

he wanted to get fd rx7 rims, but than went with Excel Speed 17's, they're like 13.5-14lbs also wrapped with BFGoodrich KDW NT Tires

for drag strip he's gonna get Mickey Thomspon Import Version of slicks, gotta decide soon if he's gonna upgrade to oem size either crossed or drilled & crossed rotors or go with one of those huge rotors, but in that case he won't be able to use 14-15 inches rims for drag strips, with 11-12" rotors minimum wheel will be 16 inches

He's still loking for machine shop that will do custom gears, because factory gears sucks, he has few extra oem trannies laying around in basement, still in very good shape, but we don't want to use them,
after all he spent 17 grand in it to look perfect, and theres still prolly another 8-10 grands on its way to be spend....so better get quaife differential and custom gears

if you know somebody somewhere that might be able to do custom gears let me know
