Didnt feel like reviving my old thread so I'm starting a new one.

Got pretty much all of my welding done, just need to weld on a pipe for my wastegate and one for my BOV and the kit should be complete besides finishing up the exhaust. Hope to have it running sometime soon as in maybe this weekend which I dont see why I couldnt (weather permitting) Anyways I'll shutup and heres a few pic's.

looking real good 1105, what exactly happened last time when you had your first single setup on the car? Did it just pop a headgaskets so you decided to go back to the stockers and get back at the turbo kit? Either way you've made some progress but I was wondering if you plan on doing some type of coating to the hot side parts or atleast plan on wrapping them. Also let me know how that master power t-70 turbo holds up over time I think i might try this diy turbo thing some time here soon. Oh and get that thing tuned right this time!!

i'm confused ... i thought you had it installed and running a while ago but blew a head gasket. did you re-do the turbo, or what happened?

do you use a mig welder? which one?

BlackVert,

he did blow a head gaskets then put the stock heads (maybe new gaskets) on and redesigned his turbo kit a little

You hit the nail right on the head.

I did blow a gasket and messed up one of my TW heads, so I now have the stockers back on. When I first made the kit it was on a spare block and when I put it all on my car I found out my hood would not shut so thats why I'm re-working all of the pipes.

bad98sst, I'm just going to grind some the welds some and wrap the pipes with header wrap... I dont see any sense in spending $400+ to get the pipes coated.

BlackVert, I'm using an old Cebora 130 MIG welder... I think that company is out of business now though. Heres a pic of the tip I welded onto the muffler that is going to be going on the car

I dont think it was the tune really since I blew the gasket not even at 1/4 throttle but I'm going to check the timing again, maybe lock it at 18* total.

I pretty much have all of the pieces ready to be put on... Got my oil filter relocation kit back on, oil feed line on, picked up some hoses and clamps so I should just need to throw everything on tomorrow and maybe take it for another spin.

Mike, I might try to get it to the dyno next week if its running, think you could video that?

mmm... boost

Got it running again and everything seems to be fine. Did two little runs in 2nd gear at about 1/2 throttle and it felt nice again, but on the 2nd one it started breaking up into boost... but my dad said it his 12-14psi not good I'm gonna try and get it to a dyno sometime next week before I blow this setup up. I'll see if Mike can tag along and get some video the dyno pulls and I'll get some pictures later tonight.

Nice! I just had mine out today for the first time today. It's nice to drive something with some power again. So how's it run compared the last time?

i'm afraid to get on the gas like I did last time just yet. There are a few little things I need to work out before I really get on it, but at 1/2 throttle in 2nd gear it still spins the tires way to easily.

Hows yours running?

awesome. some questions:

how did you connect the oil return line to the pan?
do you plan on painting it?
what kind of filter is that on the compressor inlet?
what does "breaking up into boost" mean? pinging?
what is that blue thing?
it looks like your old pics go away. if you want, i can host them on my site so they stay around longer ... let me know
