I painted my block today and started to mach things up and discovered a problem, the oil feed and rerun on the turbo i understand.. thats easy, but the water section of my turbo has 2 fittings on it, one is about 7/8" and threaded, the other is about the same size but is clamp on. I am curious how I go from the Small nipples on the block to the Much larger nipple, and threaded Pipe thats on the turbo. I believe that this turbo IS a t-bird turbo, but i fail to see how it is supposed to hook up. Both my good turbo, and my bad turbo have the same water line configuration. any one got any pics that could guide me?

My water feed comes from a tee off the metal pipe running alongside the valve cover. It is from the top pipe coming from the thermostat.
Yeah, mine is that way too, but how does that line attach to the turbo? the Fitting on the turbo is 3x the size of the one on the water line.

IIRC the steel line on my 87 (also an 87 tc engine) flares up to the same size as the turbo fitting. car is buried right now, otherwise I can try to dig it out and take a pic
Hmm, well i dont seem to have those lines.... I gotta find someway to go from a 1/4" nipple on the block to a 9/16" fitting on the turbo.. Any ideas?

Sounds like you have IHI lines and a T3 turbo...
that i do, i purchase both motors with the turbos and manifolds missing, so i have had to piece together that side of the motor. Know of any fixes for my problem? Also, stinger you got a spare EGR exaust manifold fitting sitting around anywhere?

Thanks, i found the site, but i didnt find the specific pics you referred to, However i think i may have come up with a solution, I am just going to change the screw in nipples on the turbo to smaller ones, then just run some 3/8" line and clamp it. Seems like it should work just fine.
