I know the general rule is stay away from ebay turbos but just wondering what you guys would think about a twin turbo kit on there, sold by eworld performance engineering, the kits look better than any other turbos ive seen on ebay before but who knows.

I was thinking about a supercharger(the new novi sl, under $2k), prob stay between 5-8 psi. But then thought maybe a single turbo. I think b&g has a stage one kit for about 2300. This would be going on a stock block 331, what you think? I plan to run a trick flow top end kit also, would I be safer running a s/c over a turbo- considering the stock block gets iffy around 450 hp?

TT kit on eBay: Total and complete garbage. Anybody who buys one deserves to lose the extra $3000 it is going to take to make it fit....only to grenade the turbos in the first place.

The first thing I noticed was the "headers"....and yes, I say "headers" because that is exactly what they are. They are shorty headers that had the exhaust flange cut off and a turbo mount welded on. And by "welded" I mean I think a one-armed child used bubble gum. They are in such a position that you can't mount the turbos without losing your brake booster, and moving your alternator into the bumper...or the trunk...or the closet. You won't need it anyway because the kit will never be drivable, thus negating the need for a charging system in a non-running vehicle.

The piping is made of something I can only describe as feeling like someone rolled a few layers of tin foil around a PVC pipe and removed the PCV pipe leaving the roll of tin foil.

The blow off valves are aptly named....as they will blow right off the vehicle if you ever get it started.

I know this because a moron that I work with bought that kit....opened it up only to have 5 techs laugh and tell him not to waste his time. Of course he tried to put it on anyway....only to realize himself that it wasn't going to fit without buying all new piping. He sold the intercooler to one guy and the turbos to a guy with a Turbo Coupe. That guy replaced the stock TC turbo with one of these and made a LOT less power, even with supporting modifications.

In other words....stay away from that kit. It is complete garbage.

Sorry if that sounded harsh towards you....it wasn't meant to be. Every time I see one of those kits, I can't help but think of the guy I work with and his experience....even AFTER all of us told him not to buy it in the first place. He refused to listen, thinking he was going to outsmart all of us. Only to fail....horribly.

So my bitterness is still directed at him...NOT you. You are asking BEFORE buying it, he asked, we told him, he bought anyway.

Post script to that story, he ended up putting a 150 shot on it, ran low 11s, sold the car.

Thats why I wanted to ask..... its not harsh at all. I was leaning towards a s/c with low psi anyways just because I think a turbo will put out too much power for a stock block. Still considering a B&G single turbo though..... Maybe wait on that for a 408 in the future
