Your not alone, mine is just getting started, didn't have much of an option the bottom end of the 3.8 is done, should be done by end of month, be prepared to drop lots of cash the swap isn't cheap.

I did it to my 2000 v6 put a 306 in it...heres the meat n potatoes when u do the kmember dont go cheap get the aje kmember I had a shiity qa1 or other one and it broke at the a arms weld luckily i wasnt driving i was parking..coulda been bad...aje kmember doesnt have welded tabs to connect the a arm the a arm goes through part of the kmember itself check their website also aje kmembers doent need to be squared so u dont have to plum b ob and etc...... otherwise most everything else went pretty easy for the swap lemme know if you got q's

Right on it would be nice to baable to work with someone through the swap so we should keep in touch. Although i believe mine will go smooth there is always some thing to ask.

As for cost i bought back my 95 GT i crashed when i was 18. Traded my ninja for it and i only had 200 invested in it believe it or not, but ya so can you keep the power distribution box under the hood and the rest of it's wiring harness or not.

And yes i too hope to be done in the next 2 months forsure, but will shoot for a month. New home owner always has so much to do you know!

Thanx Dagz

i already did it
and let me tell you its a huge mistake to try that swap if you dont have a complete junk 5.0 car of the same year to pick parts off of
youll never work out all of the bugs that your gonna have
my car runs super good but its every day a new problem comes up and im never done messin with it

Swaping not an easy DIY

I've been searching for about a 1yr for a decent drive train, finally got one thats complete including stock exhust, (stock headers are not going in will switch to BBK) what we have done is the short rebuild (gaskets, timing chain, water pump, etc) Sent the Trans out to checked over before it goes back in. The rear end will either be pulled out now or we may wait until later when cash is a bit more flush.

OK so two questions, can you keep the power distribution box under the hood and that portion of the wiring harmess.

And if you wanted to install power door lock and windows would you have to replace the wiring harness in the dash or is there a connecter near the kick panel. And is there relays for this stuff there aswell.

Thanx Dagz

replace the whole wire harness.... and byw this is somthing i almost did till i got sober... the v6 come wih a 7.5 rear and the v8 obviously come with the 8.8 also the transmission wil work however not made for the power it will work but they are not the same... the only way i would consider doing this is if i had a good gt parts car... even then why not take the gt and sell the v6...insurance?? then if you get in an accident you dont get to claim anything. its just too expensive i had a 94 v6 for two years then i got my 88gt and it was $3500 so... why not just get a gt?? my two cents

i did it, i used the stock wiring harness, just changed to the 94-95 engine harness and computer. i also swapped from auto to t5, very easy... the ccrm is different, it has no low speed fan so it will throw a check engine light. you do not have to change out the k-member, you should change the rear, and get rid of those gay v6 seats too.having a parts car is not necessary, but it is easier. the little pieces will nickle and dime you. and oh yea, put a power adder in too. v6 virgin torque boxes loved to get their cherries popped hard.lol check out my cardomain for some of my pics. also where are you located? do a search there is alot of info on this swap i have found after i did mine. dont be scared, this swap is painless

Ya right on like i said earlier i have a parts car, i already put the leather, spoiler, wheels, and fog lamps into the car. I will swap the engine, bell housing, got a center force dual friction clutch, fly wheel was turned and yes i am going to use the other transmission, and yes i will hold up all that other stuff ppl are saying is garbage. I work at ford it is not hard to figure out stuff like that. But ya k member will stay and should work ok. Gunna do the suspention while i'm at it to make for a smooth tight ride.

But as long as you have documentaton you can still get insurance but cheaper every month, haha. And i love building cars it's not the point that i can just go out and buy one what fun is that. Plus the motor i have is outta my old car i already built and it is a Valcon re man with 12000 on it why not.

Thanx to everyone for the help i'll tell ay how it goes. Thanx Dagz
