TW heads and removing roller lifters?

Does anyone know if i have to remove the trick flow heads to remove the lifter? Or can it be done with them still on? Thanks in advance>

the lifters are under the intake manifold, not the heads. so to answer your question, yes it can be done without removing the heads.

the heads hang over the lifters. the push rods go from the lifters THROUGH the heads to the rockers. the reason i am asking is because i think when i did the head and cam swap i tried to pull the lifter out but it hit the bottom of the head. but it has been a while since i did it and i dont want to waste money on head gaskets if i dont have to remove them.

On a 351 the deck is tall enough you wont have to, but on the 302 yes you usually do. (need to pull the head)

I'd start pulling the heads off, the roller lifters will not be able to come up and out of their bore without the heads removed

You do not have to remove the heads to get to the lifters on a 302. You just have to pull the valve covers and loosen the rockers to get the lifters out. I had to do this on my motor with TW heads when a couple of my old lifters collapsed.
