I really wanted to do a turbo, having built a turbo VW Scirocco 20 yrs ago...but the quality kits (such as HP) would require some custom fabrication, and they want the car in Roswell, NM!!! Not too good for many of us. I have finally decided to do a Kenne Belle twin-screw S/C. I've also done the MII front end so there really is plenty of room to do a turbo. Actually, a pre-built kit would be a starting point, leaving out the intercooler and to/from plumbing; bolt up the headers and turbos; then get a custom built intercooler (would put it in the opening provided by the Shelby R-style front apron), mount it, and fab-up the remaining plumbing.
HP does nice ceramic coated plumbing with their gear. They are not very interested in building the other pieces (those different from a Fox-bodied car) by long distance...talked to them about this issue last week.
I may still try a turbo when I get around to irreversibly destroying / modifying my 2+2...next year, perhaps!
