hey guys i didnt know really where to put this, but the typhoon intake mani. for the 94-95 whats the power to gain from those?? i cant find anything anywhere about them..? i just want to know like base power gains.. thanks guys!

i think the popular opinion (backed up by dyno reports) is that this type of intake shifts the power to the upper rpm range and one loses torque in the lower rpm range.illwood said:RC, how do you figure?
After putting the Performer RPM on my car, I picked up the performance I mentioned above at the track and I've even seen an increase in my fuel economy (when I'm driving nice).
I haven't really noticed any driveablility issues. Although a standard Performer might have given me more for the same combo.![]()

you can do it, but if you look at a stock dyno graph for a 94-95 gt, the powerband starts to fall off around 4800-5000rpm's. the performer rpm or typhoon shifts the powerband to the higher end of the rpm range where the heads run out of steam. the bottom line is, it will make a difference, but the full potential of the intake wont be seen until you swap out the heads at the very least. i would base the decision now on what your longer term pkans for the car are. if heads arent on the list, i would just go with a cobra intake if you are on a budget, or a performer if you can spend the extra cash. if your plans include heads and you just want the intake now, the typhoon would be the way to go.Emoney8924 said:so then basically i should probably wait untill i have a good combo, to use with it, otherwise it might just be a waste of my time for now.. all the car has done right now, is just an o/r h pipe, cai, and mufflers
I don't disagree with the shift of the power curve, just that you had mentioned "cursing youself" putting it on a stock engine. I didn't think of it as a curse, maybe just a light hex.94GTLaserRC said:What the 2 above said...just mainly the power band.. Our cars our great with the good tq and gears out of the hole...You lose a little of that with the RPM/typhoon and stock heads and cam.

I mean cursing, like swearing or cussing!..Only because you spent the money and didnt get the potential.illwood said:I don't disagree with the shift of the power curve, just that you had mentioned "cursing youself" putting it on a stock engine.
