I just bought 96 more 100W light bulbs at the Home Depot ... why?

BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT HAS DECREED THAT THEY WILL NOT BE SOLD ANY MORE STARTING 01/01/2012!!!!!

I now have 192 100W light bulbs sitting in my garage.

LOL. The ban on lightbulbs is actually something that came about through an international treaty. The state of South Carolina has decreed that they will start up their own incandescent light bulb factory. Of course, the federal government can stop light bulbs from crossing state lines. Who knows, light bulbs might be the bootleg item of our generation. They could make a movie about it.

"What the hell do you want with a 100 cases of light bulbs?"
"Because his house is dark...dummy."

"Now you take light bulbs west of the Savannah, now that's bootlegging, and that's against the law."

If it ends up being aborted, then I can always return them.

Better safe than sorry.

Trudat.

I doubt it will ever be funded though dumber things have happened. There is an increasing concern about putting all that mercury from the new bulbs into the land fills.

Some endangered spotted cock-roach might be injured or something. You never know what kind of crap they'll come up with next.

I would be more understanding if all the new bulbs weren't made in fricken China. They last about half as long as a normal bulb. I'd hold onto your bulbs. You will either need them eventuallly or the price will skyrocket if the bill ever does pass.
