just got off the UFC site and it looks like on 3-3-07 Randy Couture is once again stepping into the ring against the heavy weight chump I mean heavy weight champ tim silvia Randy was the heavy weight champ before so I hope he puts on his lost weight from fighting in the light heavy which should be no problem and takes this Jack@$$ to school.

If it was not for his pure size he would be destroyed by most fighters he can sprawl is about it and yes his hands are heavy he is just not what I feel a champ should be he has won fights on decision that he should not. it should be a good fight if randy stays away from his hands it should be over for silvia

Silvia is not well rounded, he just has a huge reach advantage. Did you see his fight against cabbage? He could NOT knock cabbage out, instead of trying another strategy for victory, he kept punching cabbage's head. You ever see him on the ground?

Silvia looks and fights like a praying mantis although he is tuff and big I think Randy should take him. The only thing Randy has against him is his age but 43 or 44 isnt that old is it ?

He hasnt been on the ground lately but when he has hes tapped out most of the time or atleast everyother time. If someone gets a full mount hes toast because his legs make up 3/4 of his body even though he does have a good reach because of his arms .

yeah, how did his fight with munson go? I bet chode could've routed him pretty well on the ground.

Well lets see if I remember correctly he only got him on the ground once and munsons arms were so short that when he got the mount he still couldnt reach him but Silvia could still reach him because of his freak of nature built lol . If Randy gets him on the ground and in a mount its all over, Randy used to be a heavy weight and is a well balanced fighter with a much better reach and is built like a heavy wieght and if you happen to know Randys record whitch btw I do out of his 20 something wins only around two were by submission and the rest were ground and pound or stand up knock outs so to comparte Randy to Munson is not comparing apples to oranges . Munsen is a awsome ground fighter but becauser he's so stockywith a short reach he couldnt even get close to silvia but with anyone else a foot shorter Munson would of put up a much better fight. Anyway my moneys on Randy in this matchup imo the only way Randy can loose in this fight is to father time, it would be because of his age, Randy out classes Silvia big time

I don't know...Munsun got Silvia down a couple times. Once he even had Silvia in that backward choke he likes to do. Silvia just wrestled out of it everytime and got up. I have no idea who even thought that that was going to be a good fight.

I like Randy but he may not last too long with Silvia.

I think you are exactly right. Silvia does not fight at all like a champion. That's what makes him dangerous. He looks hungry like his first match everytime I see him fight.

Silvia is trying to fight like chuck the ice man whos very good at counter fighting countering after every opponents punch. It works for Chuck but I dont think it will work for Tim against Randy and many other fighters he will fight down the road. He just dosent have the speed but he does have the power I just dont think its going to work for him he's to slow. The beauty of the UFC is the mixture of marshal arts from a to z ,wrestling, boxing and of course the factor in many sports luck, it only takes one punch to end it and with heavy weights its magnafied and a punchers chance is what Silvia needs to win but if it goes the distance like his last fight, Randy will out score him for sure . Silvia does have a good chin and recovers quicky usally when knocked down but if he gets knocked down Randys will not give him the chance to recover and will either submit him or finish knocking him out..

I must be watching another fighter Silvia gets on his bicycle and will not make any first attacks I hate watching his fights I am usually so discusted with the fight after watching it that I feel that he should have the title stripped.

I agree and he punches like a little bitch but with more power behind it . I can just hear his words everytime he counters a punch when hes running away " Stoppppp it you big bulley you almost hit me, im so mad I could crush a grape as he paws at them

One thing I must say though in Silvias defence is I saw him fight one time and he was being submitted I dont remember who he was fighting but I beleive it was before he was a heavy weight champion and the guy had him in a arm bar and I actually saw his arm pop and snapp about 4 inches in the way a arm shouldnt bend and he wouldnt tap out the re-ff had to stop it .
