uh oh. 5th gear grinding

so my 5th gear grinds every single time. if i let off til my rpms come down under 1500 then put it in 5th it doesnt. im not driving it until its fixed, i dont want to screw it up worse. what would it be

You have to do some research on the internet, not too many transmission guys outthere, don't know why, its just as important as the engine, w/that been said.

blocker ring. I know the T-5's use a brass blocker ring, not sure about the T-45's.

Buy one from D&D, remove tranny and tail housing, follow the pdf attached above and replace accordingly.

If you feel that it is over your head, then pull tranny, buy part, pay shop to pull and press for you. I would guess no more than 200 labor.

Right Click and "Save As" PDF

Firefox is teh ghey with displaying PDFs in a web browser


im assuming you use firefox for some reason..hopefully that takes care of your issue

so do you think for sure its that brass blocker ring? or is it my synchronizers?

a few months back me and a buddy were playing around on the highway, and i pulled 4th gear out to 6500+rpms, and it grinded 5th so bad i swore it was never going to work again!

yea well im experiencing this every time i go into 5th.
