well I was just out changing my oil and I noticed it smelled kinda like gas. I realized that between this oil change and my last I put UV dye in my gas tank, so I busted out the black light. to compare, I looked at some old oil I had laying around still and it glowed kinda blue. then I looked at the oil I just drained and it glowed green (the color the UV dye glows). I'm hoping that different oils just glow different colors (the old oil drain pan had some synthetic blend and also regular dino oil mixed in). but how can I verify whether or not it really is gas in there? and what sort of thing would cause this to happen? thanks for any help guys.

this sucks

Does your car flood out a lot? You could have too much blow by on the piston rings, maybe you should do a compression test.

If your car runs rich it could cause this problem. If it is a problem.I would not worry much unless your car has other problems related to the fuel.My car oil smells a little like fuel and the compression is aok.It does run rich.I have a adjustable regulator plus new injectors on the way. When I had my eldelbrock performer intake put on a couple injector caps were cracked and one was removed. The dealer did it and said it would be fine.Just replace them when I get the extra money.

well I just checked the compression and everything seems fine. got 160,160,160,162,156,165,167,160. The car generally stalls on the first start of the day, and when it does it reeks of fuel. I get horrible gas mileage (have another thread going on that topic) but my plugs are white. last I checked, my fuel pressure was around 40.
