Sorry about the vagueness of the title, I don't know the proper way to explain it heh.

Started her up today and did the 'ol smoke a cig while she warmed up ritual. She was idling just fine for a few minutes then it started to get iffy, dropped a lil in RPM's and sounded a little rough. Took her out for a spin to see if maybe it was just some dirt I needed to pass through. It was better but not how it has been. Decided to clean the air filter (just got through pollen season here in GA anyways) and put an inline fuel filter in that I've been putting off. Took her for a spin a few hours later and all seemed well, even the tranny was kicking down a gear nice. On the way back home I decided to get on it and see how it faired, but once I got in the upper RPMs I couldnt tell if it was a backfire or a sputtering or what, basically she wasnt going to fire much longer. Coasted into the turning lane to my neighborhood, sat for a few seconds and she cranked right back up. Pulled into my garage, did a rev in idle and the RPM's started to drop again and get rough.

Any suggestions? Dirt in the carb? Fuel filter restricting too much flow? I don't really want to adjust the floats and idle screws since this little chilly spell should only last a couple days. Temp was about the same when I adjusted them last a month ago anyways. Just rebuilt the carb a month ago as well...been running perfect since, hope it's not time for another already lol.

Possible vacuum leak. Also might be bad ignition wires. Yes it is possible that it might be the carb, but if it's an old one, any brand will develop wear and tear problems eventually. My 600 Holley looks ugly as sin, but rebuilt it last year and has no problems since.

Ive heard about Mustang Farm...never seen it though, probably gone by now. My pops actually lives off Moonstation, his shop might be tucked back in one of though industrial parks though...I'll have to ask around.

Think I'm gonna hold off on the Edelbrock for a lil bit...hopefully buying a new bike next week and would like to have some cash around. I'm going to do the points tonight, eliminate the fuel filter, retune the carb, and see what happens.

I dunno, I'm beginning to think it may be ignition oriented. Cut out on me today at work, when I finally got it started back up took the float level screws out and everything seemed to be where it should. Ah well...time for a 6pack and a trip to AAP lol.
