Under the hood engine light.

dont think theres a light under the hood and the key lock is in the handle on the drivers door only.

Come on now guys' ?..cut the guy a break, afterall he's just converted over from the Bowtie guys over to us, If anything we should all be congratulating him for making the switch..Anyway nycstang37 is correct dude, there's no engine light under the hood and there's only the one door lock on the driver's side..my guess is Ford did this for security purposes..Anyway, welcome aboard..

And you can open the trunk while inside your car with the trunk button on your keyfob.

Now that you bring up the trunk release on the keyfob ?? could that be why Ford didn't install a trunk release button inside the glove box ??? It also just reminded me as to why there's no light under the hood ??, but yet there's one inside the trunk..Now that's what I call strange..

It's called saving money. Ford isn't in the greatest financial shape and every little bit counts. There are MANY little items missing from the car that have been there in the past.

At least the engine is sexy along with the shape of the car!

Money saving, yes. They don't think we will miss it. Most consumers don't even check their fluids these days, much less poke around in the dark. Nope, they flip open their Razor phone and call road side assistance.

The trunk having a light? Well, heck yes! Gotta get all those shopping bags out of there from the mall. Wouldn't want to leave a wayward thong running amuck in the dark.

Trunk release button? Nope. Thanks to car jackings and cost savings we get a total redesign. No more button or trunk release cable by the driver's seat. Just the hole in the rear badge or the FOB. Ever have a battery die on that when you are out of town on a trip? Convenient, I must say.

As for the light and the trunk release. My 9 year old son loves the glow in the dark emergency/panic release handle in the trunk. Finally had to super glue that sucker in. "Somehow" it kept working its way to his room as a "neat thingy". So, thinking I was doing the right thing by explaining to him the purpose of the "neat thingy", he has now discovered a fun diversion to the trunk. (I thought this was to help kids that get stuck IN THE TRUNK escape?) He now takes any opportunity he can to flip the split back, crawl through and "Pop" pull the rip cord. I swear if I was not a patient mother I would smack him. Well, at least he has become well practiced in the escape and entry points of the S197 Mustang.

With a convertible, I am glad that they did away with the glove compartment hood release. The glove box lock is another story though.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed to not see a set of pony emblem center caps on the standard 17" Bullit wheels of my car. Instead they came with these cheezy silver ones with the blue oval in the middle. I've priced the pony caps out and they aint cheap; about 72 bucks across the parts counter or through fordgenuineaccessories.com for a set of 4. If nothing else you'd think they could have thrown those in (and the underhood light) as part of the "Premium" package.

OK seriously tho I dont like the under hood light cause if u have a dead battery then it's harder to charge it up with that fricken light on.
