Hello,
I have a '68 fastback that I would like to re-do the underdash harness in due to age, splicing, reliability, etc.
I would prefer to use a reproduction harness instead of one of the Painless/EZ harnesses simply because I don't want to have to deal with the headaches of mystery wires and splicing old ends onto new wire. The only additional items I plan on running from the harness are my Sony CD player and a couple of Autometer gauges, so I do not anticipate much of an added load on the system.
A couple of questions:
1. Could someone recommend one of the Mustang parts suppliers for this type of harness? Are some harnesses better than others or are they all made by the same manufacturer in the end?
2. I have only been able to locate '67 harnesses at a couple of the suppliers. Would the '67 harness work with my '68? I do not have tach, a/c or GT/fog lights on my car. I could replace the steering column harness and gauges harness at the same time.
I know these issues have been raised a million times before, but I couldn't find the exact answers I was looking for in the archives.
Thanks for your help guys,
Kelton
