Underdrive Pullies HELP!

Ok, so me and a few friends are trying to install my new Steeda UD pullies today and everything went really smooth untl we had to put the Crank/Balancer pullie back on..We started threading it in with the bolt Steeda supplied and then when it was about 3/4 the way on we replaced it with the stock bolt just like the directions instructed. Well it wouldn't go in any further and we didnt have alot of the right tools so that didnt help much either but as far as that we did everthing exactly as instruced. Ive researched this alot and thought it was goin to be fairly simple except for this part. Ive heard of boiling the Crank Pullie for about 10 minutes and it would help the fit a little better but forgot to try it. SOME ONE HELP ME OUT

just a thought but did u make sure that the washer behind the bolt was on? i had a friend who thought he had mesed everything up only to find out he had forgotten that washer. the bolt had threaded in all the way, but since the washer wasnt there it wasnt pulling the balancer any further on...

Did you put your old harmonic balancer in front of the new pulley? A friend of mine installed my old set of saleen pulleys, and the pulley using his old bolt because the new one was too long. He did not know the harmonic balancer must be installed with the pullies.

Well i was going to do that but Steeda said that i didnt have to do that with thier pullies.... should i?

The Steeda replaces the stocker. Not a piggy-back style.

Is the bolt not going all the way on or is it the pulley not setting itself? You said you used the stock bolt? Reread the instructions. I may be wrong but I think you use the bolt Steeda provides. The stocker may be too long. What did you use to remove the old crank pulley? Any chance anything has found it's way into the bolt hole?

I used the steeda bolt to guide the new pullie on and then the directions told me to re use the stock bolt permanatley...and i used a crank puller to get the old one out as instructed as well.. there is a chance that something could have been left in there but i highly doubt it tho. Thanks more replies would be great to hehehehhe

I would try removing the pulley and heating it up, then try again. May not seem like the problem but it can't hurt to try. I know mine went on fairly easily after I heated it.

Oh, don't forget to put some rtv in the keyway and replace the key. If you don't you may develop an oil leak.
