i have a stock alternator will i need to get a new one or will mine be ok it goes down yo 8 at idle

I think it should be fine, i have an underdrive crank and waterpump pulley... my alt. charges at 14.6v at idle without the lights on etc.

I don't remember if i had the multimeter on it with the lights on. I would happily test mine for you, but the car is in a garage and i don't plan on starting it .

This was also tested when my idle was below 750RPM.

Don't forget that stock alt's differ from one another, do they not? One is 65amp and the other is 95amp? I don't know which one i have.

You should be ok as long as you dont have your a/c on with your headlights and all.

Worst case senario:, you need to get an ASP alternator overdrive pulley. It is 1 7/8 in size, where the stock is 2.1/4 I think??? If you find out you need it, you can order it from summit racing for about $30.
