I'm so glad to see it going back together. Some folks woulda lost all their steam after the fire.

Good job man ! Your car is unique and that blue is really nice

IT'S ALIVE !!!!!!!!
Finally got her fired up today, YEAAAAAAAAA
Still have the exhaust to do and something is binding on the accelerator cable and looks like valve cover gasket is leaking (never should have used those cheap Mr. Gasket covers) and to top it all off I have a pin hole in my new aluminum radiator (trouble never ends ) but it's in and running, I'll deal with the rest of it, should be on the road tomorrow, maybe not in perfect order but drivable. I'll get the rad. to a shop and have it repaired.

Well didn't have as much time today as I had planned, but I did manage to get the exhaust on but still need to install some hangers. It sounds pretty sweet. Not much room under the car for this exhaust to keep it up out of the way.
I bought some aluminum brazing rod for the radiator, seems the center hub on the electric fan was rubbing on the radiator and worn a hole in one of the fins. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

id vote not to braze the tube.
My recommendation is to pull the radiator, clean it,dry it, lay it flat and epoxy the leaking tube at the hit spot and around it for good measure,

Id vote to call whoever sold the thing, and tell them it leaks. It's supposed to be new.

I worked on the radiator and it was an easy fix, this new aluminum rod ( new to me) is really nice. A little cleaning , powdered flux and some mild heat and it flowed right in.
Finished up the exhaust but it really sticks down in the center of the car ? Only have about 5" clearance. I will have to address that later.

Well I need some help here.
I've got this thing all back together and went to fire it up and can't get it running right. I've checked and rechecked the timing and distributor wiring (both versions) and no luck, it has a terrible miss in it yet it's not back firing at all but it won't get out of it's own way.
I'm thinking that I have what was an original 5.0 engine but when I first bought the car I pulled all the plug wires off to clean them and that's when I found out that there were 2 different firing orders for the 5.0 and the 5.0 HO ? I guess when the PO replaced the cam ( x cam) it also changed the firing order to the HO order and when the firing order gets changed the fuel injector order must follow .
So I'm wondering if this used engine wiring harness I bought might not be a standard 5.0 harness and the fuel injectors are not timed with the spark plug timing. Does this sound reasonable?
The 2 firing orders are close and my car will run on either but not very well.
It definitely had the HO firing order before.
I have the original factory 1988 factory wiring diagram but not the HO.
Does anyone have a diagram of the fuel injector wiring back to the eec
for an HO engine?
This thing is driving me crazy? I'm so close but so far.
I also told you it was an easy fix on my aluminum radiator "NOT" boy did I mess that one up, just couldn't get it to stop leaking until I finally ruined the radiator and had to buy a new one. live and learn!
