1. electronic ignition. I just want to do a points replacement until I get the old 289 rebuilt. I'm looking at either the Crane XR-I (cheap) or the Ignitor 2. Any suggestions?

2. subframe connectors. Any brand better than the other? These would be weld ins.

3. monte bar. same?

1) Stay the hell away from IgnitorII...very, very high DOA rate. I vote Duraspark.

2) Global West's tube ones are the best for looks and ground clearance, from what I can tell.

3) All the same AFAIK Get an export brace too

1. For price look at Pertronix.

2. I have the GW units and am pleased, but if you don't have a vert like me I'd take the TCP ones with the ceneter brace.

3.) Export brace AND the MC bar like 5.0ina66 said.

How much would I be looking at for a complete Duraspark conversion?

I've got TCPs and they're great. Combined with an MC bar and export brace, this thing does not twist. I can't complain about my pertronix either.

There are now Monte Carlo bars specifically for 67 that fit correctly at the sides. Might want to check it out. I know NPD carries them for one.

1. I like the Igniter II so I think it is personally choice
2. Maier racing subs are the best design if you don’t have a vert
3. Same as above get the export brace too as well.
