Ok so for a while I have been slowly but surely upgrading the stereo system in my mustang. Well it is a 96 GT convertable. I guess I should mention that I have the Mach 460 system. I have a new head unit and multiple amplifiers for the new speakers. So far I have a Kicker ZX450 amp for my Kicker solobaric sub in the trunk. I also have a nice autotek 4 chanel amp for the interior speakers. Now I do know that the front speakers are 5/7 6/8's and I do plan also puting the triangular type speaker by the mirrors on my interior amp. Well my question is what size are the rear speakers. And what do yall' suggest as for brand. As of right now I have not replaced any interior speakers yet and they are still on the factory amps. I do have to say that just swaping out the head unit and using the harness to reuse the factory amps have made a signifigant difference in sound quality. But I still seek more.

like I said I havent done anything yet except hook up the bass amp and sub in the trunk. Now I have decided to use the 4 channel Autotek amp because it will provide 100 watt RMS which is perfect, not too much and just enough for what I want to accomplish.

OK so right now I have a pair of Infinity reference series coaxial 5/7 6/8's on the shelf. They havent been used much at all but have been sitting for 2 years but are in perfect shape. Once I find out what size the rear speakers are in the back should should I stick with the Infinity Reference series? Or go with some other brand speakers. I definitely want to stay with a coaxial set cause component speakers cost too much. If 100 RMS is to much I can cut the wattage in half by rewiring the speakers for 50 RMS wattage.

So what so yall' people think? What speakers do you run with your aftermartket amp as far as the interior speakers. I would like to get some nice crisp sound with as little distortion as possible if possible. I mostly listen to Hip-Hop, Rap, Heavy Metal, and Classic rock if that helps.

I heard that the rears are 5 and 1/4" for the convertibles is this true?

OK sorry for the forever long post I just need answeres and opinions on what yall think. And what yall' use with your system. I'm not sure I even posted this in the right area. But I need some feedback cause I will be buying and installing this weekend. Maybe I can get some sound clips posted up if yall' would like. Yo guys are the experts :hail2: so let me know what yall know/think.

Anything is appreciated Thanks, Clint:flag:
