Ok I know I have asked before, but I need HELP, SUGGESTIONS or something. I have an upper console for a 67 coupe and can't figure out how to mount the thing. In the rear I can put two screws in. I have the bracket for the front. However this car did not come with the console, and there is nothing to mount the front bracket to. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome . I have to take the car intwo weeks to get the roll cage. I Need to have this done before that.

Help

What about some JB Weld for the bracket to the roof ? Does anyone have some pic's of there roof w/o the headliner in ? Or can someone measure how far back this console sits from the rear view mirror ?

thanks

first: ship it to me. then i'll install it in my car and let you know how i did it.

seriously, tho... since that was an option, i doubt there would be mounting points on some cars and not others. i would think there is something up there that's covered by the headliner, similar to the rear-view mount. feel around up there for some kind of tabs.

i'm guessing your console didn't come with instructions... if you can't get a good answer in time, try calling Mustangs Unlimited or a similar shop [or perhaps there's one in your area?].

Damn! I cannot remember (lost too many brain cells in the '80s I guess) from when i replaced the headliners in my coupe and fastback that had the overheads. I am "thinking" there were small sheetmetal brackets between the roof and the headliner. Perhaps the cars with that option got them tacked in on the line before the interior was installed?

Sorry i cannot be of more help.
