Help!

I want to do the Shelby 1" drop on my upper arm. Do the new holes go above (as I think) or below the original holes?

Also, are the spring seats (perches) on the lower arms suposed to be real stiff when new? There is spring end "stop" on one side of the perch. Does it go toward the engine side, the wheel side or does it matter? The way mine are installe, it looks like the spring installation will not line up correctly with the angle of the perch.

The new holes go below the orginal ones. The perches are supposed to be stiff, and I usually put the end with the stops towards the inside (engine side).

Be careful if you print the template out, it doesn't always print full size (off by ~1/16" to 1/8" and the template doesn't show the dimension between the center lines of the holes.

Thanks BBFCM, I noticed that as well the first time I printed it for my reference binder. The print I made came out actual size.

The measurements center to center appear to be:

'65-'66 = 3.75"

'67-'70 = 4.75"

Please advise me if incorrect in any way. Hope you had a good weekend.

The '65-'66 measurement is what I got (I measured from center of the bolts on my new upper arms), using this measurement and the paper template, I made a template out of aluminum on Saturday. (I also test fit it over the bolts on my new upper control arm!)
Once the weather gets warm all I'll have to do is bolt the template in place and drill pilot holes, drop the template, then step-drill up to the final size!

That's what I'm planning as well. Only I'm probably going to use one of the two CNC machines running behind me right now to pump out a dozen or so templates with instructions ingraved on them and see if they'll sell for a few bucks each. There's also '77 granada daily driver for sale on my way to work I'm thinking about buying for the disk conversion. I have to prioretize my wife and two year old son's christmas first before justifying purchasing a 28 year old granada though. I just don't think she'd understand.

Ya, but your son would LOVE it! What other 2 yr old in the neighborhood would have a '77 Granada up on blocks for a playhouse!

Not so much rednecks where I am, just guys who don't know when to say "it's all over" to their car and move on. There's always the hope that some silver bullet will bring that Lada or Buick Century back to life. The most common method of restoration is removing the blue tarp in favour of the more year correct orange tarp.
